Schedule
A
Typical Day
in San Demetrio Corone
A copy of the daily schedule will be given to
students each week; the schedule will be presented and discussed and
may be subject to change, upon students' and/or director's request or
unexpected contingences. The following is an example of a day
spent during the program:
7-8.30am: Breakfast
8.30am-1pm: Classes, Seminars and
Lab
1-2pm: Lunch
2-4pm: Siesta/Studying
4-7:30pm: Activities or Excursion
7.30-8.30pm: Dinner
9pm-12am: Activities
or free time
Enjoy a delicious Italian breakfast,
then head to class for engaging lessons in Italian language and
culture.
After class, attend a "real-life lab" where you’ll observe a local
artisan
and discuss his or her work and life. One of the advantages of a small
town
such as San Demetrio Corone is that people have the time and
inclination
to talk with you. You’ll interact with local inhabitants and then
present
a report in class.
After a healthy Mediterranean
lunch, the afternoon holds
many options. There is free time for studying, perhaps a short ride to
the beach or mountains
to relax in beautiful natural surroundings, etc. After a dinner of more
delicious
local cuisine, students may relax at the piano bar, see a play, or
enjoy
an evening of poetry reading. On the weekends, go to the beach or visit
some of the most spectacular
sights and cities in Southern Italy.
